BORA Portuguese
About me
Oi, my name is Juliana. I created BORA Portuguese because I truly believe that language changes lives — it changed mine.
Learning English and Italian opened doors I never imagined: it allowed me to travel the world, work internationally, connect with people from different cultures, and build a life beyond borders. And along the way, I realized something very clearly: language is not just grammar — it’s connection, confidence, and freedom.
That’s why I decided to teach Brazilian Portuguese in a real, practical, and human way.
With a background in Modern Languages, English Translation, and years of international experience, I focus on teaching Portuguese the way Brazilians really speak: naturally, clearly, and with cultural context.
At BORA Portuguese, learning goes beyond grammar. It’s about communication, confidence, and feeling at home in the language.
About BORA Portuguese
BORA is my favorite word in Portuguese.
In Brazil, bora means "let's go." It's something we say without thinking too much — when we want to invite someone, encourage them, or simply start something together. There's warmth, movement, and openness in this word.
When I was choosing a name for my company, bora felt natural. It represents how I see language learning: not perfect, not intimidating, but human. An invitation to try, to speak, to make mistakes, and to keep going.
BORA Portuguese was born from this idea. What started as one-on-one classes has grown into a full online Portuguese school — with live classes, self-paced courses, and a growing community of students from all over the world. Today, BORA Portuguese brings together talented native Brazilian teachers, original learning materials, and a method built around real life, not textbooks.
The logo
I also created the logo myself.
I designed the letter “B” to represent both Brazil and BORA — the country, the language, and the invitation to begin. For me, these two meanings are inseparable.
I connected the “B” to the shape of Brazil because Portuguese is more than grammar or vocabulary. It carries culture, identity, and everyday life. Language and place are deeply connected.
The logo is simple on purpose. I wanted something clear and honest, just like the learning experience I try to create for my students.
What BORA Portuguese
means to me
BORA Portuguese is not about sounding perfect.
It’s about feeling comfortable enough to speak.
It’s a space where learning feels lighter, more real, and more human — where you can grow at your own pace and slowly feel at home in the language.
So when I say bora, I really mean it.
Let’s start. Let’s try. Let’s learn together.
